We all know accidents can happen. Without CSDNB's Student Device Insurance Program, you could be on the hook for costly device repairs or replacement costs. The Student Device Insurance Program ($20/school year) is designed to protect students and families in the event that the Chromebook issued to a student is damaged or malfunctions due to no fault of the student.
CSDNB reserves the right to charge the student the entire replacement cost if student negligence is determined to be the cause of the damage. This coverage is effective from the first day school year until the first day of the following school year. Insurance must be renewed annually.
Don't let an accident ruin your day -- enroll today for just $20/year. Watch a video on how to enroll: English | Spanish | Arabic . Then enroll in the MySchoolBucks Store, which is accessible through PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Insuance enrollment is optional, so there is no opt out process. While insurance is optional, it is the most affordable and fastest way to get a broken device repaired. Any repairs required without insurance will be invoiced through MySchoolBucks. All money collected is used to purchase parts for repairs.
Chromebook chargers that are damaged, broken, or lost are included in the insurance coverage and will be replaced through a ticket claim. If a charger tip breaks off inside the Chromebook and cannot be removed, there will be two insurance claims used. One for the charger and one for the repair.
Chromebook cases that are damaged, broken, or lost are included in the insurance coverage as a claim or can be purchased at the cost shown on the MySchoolBucks Store.
